OMG i'm totally friends on MySpace with my friends Travis' and Krista's lil' ten(?) year old son! That's kooky. i haven't seen him or her or their kid in forever. G's a totally cool kid. Last time i saw him he was wearing a towel-cape and killing invisible dinosaurs as Batman. Fucking awesome!

Really weirded me out when he friended me, but his momma say iss alright so that's cool. I gotta try to be somewhat of a non-asshole on MySpace though. So i'll just save my freaking out and ranting for this place.

So weird, man. I've been pally-wals with several cool little kids (all friendspawn, don't get any sick ideas you freaks), but good gawd they're making e-mails now - that's just crazy.

So tell me... should i buy this? My Juno has a bad chip in it, and i need 88 piano keys for a couple things anyway.

...or should i drop a couple extra on this one?

I prefer Roland to Casio.

moi aussi, although i never liked the way the higher notes tend to sort of goa little crazy harmonically on the Rolands, but hopefully they've fixed that. i actually have always hated Casio terribly, but that thing seems surprisingly well liked. most of the reviews are pretty glowing, which says something for a digital piano. and it's sooooo cheap!

I was horrified to find out what our little cousins have been up to when they friended me on MySpace. I'm torn between narcing on them to their parents or buying them alcohol when they stay with us. HAHAHAH

Hahaha, i know! G's momma basically said that 'there's nothing he hasn't seen so go ahead and friend him back', and i'm all like 'wtf'? He's like maybe 10 or 11 at the most! I would absolutely shit myself if i found out anything untoward about a former infant of my acquaintance. He's got a few years to go before he's messing around with pot and screwing West Side girls and rolling with gangstas nad getting into knife fights or whatever the hell the kids are doing these days.

my Juno has the same problem

I say save up for something better. Maybe a more basic, modern MIDI keyboard that you can use as a controller for rack mount or PC based modules

Check that link to the ebay site in the post, you can fix it with a chip.

I know, but i really need to get something urgently before i die, and if i don't take the plunge, i'll never be able to afford it again. I don't really want to record to PC, i need a meaty box of faders and knobs to work with, and i don't have the $$$ to be getting rack synths and complicated things. I just prefer a simple setup. So my only choices right now are:

digital piano: 88 weighted, hammer action keys, good piano sounds, $400
or
synth: 61 velocity-sensitive thin plastic keys, tons of sounds, $600
