my personal favourite has always been Buzz-Off, whose persona (in fact his entire race) my friends and i hijacked in sixth grade in order to form our very own parody cult. (see people, i have EXPERIENCE with this stuff.) this cult actually lasted for years, and for all i know there may be little Buzzorian Senators running flying around to this day.

when i hear jazz music, really good jazz music, i know that i am alive.

i'm not talkin' about no damn Kenny G; none of that new soft crap. i mean Coltrane, Miles, Bird, Shepp, Thelonious, Dizzy, Satchmo... them cats's what do it for me.

WOW.

an old friend of mine, who is a serious music nut, a flea market freak, and quite a disturbed collector of Cool and Interesting Things sent me a 2 CD set. it just arrived today.

the first CD is mp3 recordings of every Beatles studio album (with the exception of two that were essentially just repacks), complete with additional tracks tacked on to represent later releases or alternate versions.

the second - and here is where i seriously began to freak out - is all of the weird stuff: oddities, outtakes and alternate versions, demos, live versions, bootlegs, and other ultra-rare recordings! i'm not sure if it's actually EVERY rarity, but ( take a look at the freakin' track listing! )

it is highly likely that he actually owns physical copies of all this stuff, including alternate covers.

p.s., no, i don't own a CD burner. sorry!!!!!!!
