Got my rejection e-mail from the creative staffing agency.

I turn 35 in just a couple more months. Thirty. Five. Three-and-a-half decades - of agony, of wanting to be something i will never be.

Do you know that i actually take orders from prissy little rich-girls for a living? 18-year-old "I'm special" daddy's-little-princesses who believe truly that they are better than me? Who probably are better than me? Most of whom will probably go on to enjoy more success for every single year of their thoughtless lives than i will for the duration of my own?

I'm a miserable failure.

Who probably are better than me?

I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree.

Your place in the universe and your place in the corporate world are NOT one and the same.

I can completely ID with this train of thought: My 35th b-day was three weeks ago yesterday.

I've tried consoling myself with thoughts like...

"I have a good relationship and am more in love than others."
"I have managed to get a degree when I was told I couldn't do it."
"I'm only half-way to 70."

*Shrugs*

No, it didn't work for me either.

*Hugs*

Take care, J. As always, if you need me, you know where to look.

Change your focus, Babe. Do what you need to do to get by with life - and then think about that quote you like so much at YSI. It's more your style anyway. Think of your job as another unfortunate chore that you have to tolerate in order to afford to focus on your real work - your life, and your art, and your service to mankind.

Hugs!

success, my ass

Their "success" will get them a bad pill-and-white-wine habit by the time they turn 30, as well as a cokehead husband and a shallow, empty life.

35's a good start. Rabbi Akiva didn't even learn how to read until he was 40.

Will there be cake at your pity party?
Because I'm only coming if there's cake.

*sigh*
Scorpios.

yo. happiness is in your heart, not your wallet.

do what you gotta do to pay dem bills, but by no means does your job define you. quit buying into that BS, youre smarter than that.
